111 Racing Set for Super Start to 2022

111 Racing owner and driver Axle Donaldson is putting the final touches on his MARC I as he and 111 Racing prepare to headline the entry list for the Super GT 4 Hour, to be held under Sydney Motorsport Park's state-of-the-art new lighting system as part of Round 1 of the Australian Motor Racing Series (AMRS) this weekend.

Following an abrupt end to the 2021 racing series, the team is very much looking forward to some valuable track time after a spate of lockdowns and border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in the early cancellation of the 2021 racing season.

"I cannot wait to get out on the track and kick start the 2022 season of racing! 111 Racing has been testing the car and we believe we are ready to give a great performance!"

- Axle Donaldson

We are very thankful to our very supportive sponsors - Axle's Earthmoving, Hitachi, Gardner Engineering Australia, ACE Rental, Bolt Marketing, Arrow Concrete Cutting, Fused Auto Electrical, Robina Roos, Collective 8, Kings of Maintenance, JV Plumbing & Gas Fitting and of course, MARC Cars Australia, which are proudly showcased on our new racing tent.

The four-hour race is open to a diverse array of sports and GT cars, ensuring all marques of GT cars are able to participate. It is the second edition of the race following its successful debut in early 2021.

All the on-track activity is condensed into two days with a trio of practice sessions on Friday, 18 February, followed by a pair of qualifying sessions and a Top 10 Shootout on Saturday, 19 February leading into the main event, which kicks off at 5:15 pm and runs into the night.

The event will be live-streamed by the well-credentialed Fuzzy Media broadcast team.
